Local Development

In this guide, we'll do a few things:

• Set up local Ganache CLI
• Deploy a simple smart contract using Truffle
• Deploy a subgraph for that contract to Graph Node
• Interact with the Truffle console and run some web3 functions

Installation

1. Truffle

Install Truffle globally by running one of the following commands (depending on whether you use npm or yarn:

$ npm install -g truffle
$ yarn global add truffle

Check the version by running: $ truffle -v

Note: If that didn't install the newest version truffle v5.0.0-beta.1 (as of this writing), then you might need to run:

$ npm uninstall -g truffle
$ npm install -g truffle@beta

Or with yarn:

$ yarn global remove truffle
$ yarn global add truffle@beta

2. Ganache

UPDATE: Don't use yarn, use npm (yarn creates bugs when using the new version of ganache-cli)
